India - Land of Taste

The society of vast subcontinent, varied and complex in its rich heritage, is among the oldest in the world.The great Indian tradition unites the diverse cultural regions, but within its elastic framework are a myriad of sects and local traditions.

Chicken Makhani

The origin of the ever popular butter chicken, also know as chicken Makhani or murgh makhani in Hindi. Its evolution is traced back to Kundan Lal Gujral, the owner of Moti Mahal restaurant at Daryangaj, Delhi (the one that currently functions there is not part of the same business).It is a fascinating tale of political, cultural and culinary happenings staged in the twentieth-century.


This rich, buttery, creamy chicken needs no introduction. Most probably the best known of all Indian dishes, it has already claimed the fame that it deserves. Butter chicken is basically a North Indian dish, popular type of chicken curry sauce, which is seen in almost all Indian restaurant menus. Chicken cooked in creamy rich sauce made with cashews, almonds, tomatoes and butter, also known as Chicken Makhani.There are many who know not where India is, but is well aware of the culinary map, there is an instant spark and recognition at the utterance of “Butter Chicken”.
